Yes, let's start already, please.

(I got 100% on Planet Robobot Friday. This is the best Kirby game ever made. Period.)

Finally starting Kirsy's idea, whatever it is!

Also, how did you clear the True Arena?

We care about it because Kirsy seems to be acting somewhat suspicious, but fine, Drogan, we'll have it your way.

Best Kirby game is quite subjective, but it certainly is a very good one.

Except for a certain boss's move that kills you in literally the worst way ever.

My favorite Kirby game is still Kirby & the Amazing Mirror though Planet Robobot is a very close second.

Yeah, that star dream punk!

@Kirbyfan27: i know. I died when star dream just killed me. :( one advice though. See, u cant use stone when fighting outta space. So, u need to use SAIL WING at the correct time.
That's the only way to block attacks and attack!
Also, be patient. Try to take no damage. Then u can kill star dream!!!

@Lolcmondummy: No, I'm stuck on Galacta Kni-- shouldn't we avoid spoilers? I use Poison, though.
EDIT: Oops, I forgot to put in my name. I'm Kirbyfan27.

Drogan is far too antsy.

And I NEED to acquire Robobot soon... I should probably start getting on that.

I like planet robobot but I like Kirby super star ultra better. I just think it has more modes and the bosses are harder. +2 player wireless play that u can use anywhere. I also think that 2nd to last boss is harder in Kirby super star ultra than planet robobot and Marx is reasonably harder than the final boss fight. Ps. I hate that final move that planet robobot final boss uses that practically one-shots u even with stone ability.

@Gigi19972010: Robobot is totally the best Kirby. Congrats on 100%! If you had the patience to slog through the True Arena after the final boss went kamikaze, you earned it.

Question for Robobot completionists: what ability did you use for the True Arena? (I used ESP)

@Kirbyfan27:

Patience + ESP.
Yeah, that thing is hard.

@Ocean:

That happened to me too, sadly. I had some boss spoiled, but luckly not all of them.

@Lolcmondummy:

Please, no spoilers in the comments, many people reading the comic don't have the game yet.

@Warpstar:

I personally loved this game. I wasn't expecting that much, I just thought it would be Kirby Triple Deluxe 2.0, which wouldn't be bad considering I loved Kirby Triple Deluxe (it tied with Kirby and the Amazing Mirror for my favorite Kirby game at that point), but it turned out to be better. It basically has everything Triple Deluxe had that was good, but better (kinda like what Triple Deluxe was when compared to Return to Dream Land), though I will admit it's not better than Triple Deluxe in every single aspect.
The Robobot Armor (done a thousand times better than the Super Abilities and Hypernova gameplay-wise), all bosses (I don't hate any of them, meanwhile other games have things like Goriath and Pyribbit) and the more complex plot (not extremely complex, but more than past Kirby games) make it stand out as a Kirby game, and for me these are good enough to make it my new favorite Kirby game. It's not perfect by any means, but certainly amazing.

@Elemental Kirby:

Thanks!

@Guest:

Yeah, that last battle...
And I'm cheap and used ESP.

@Gigi19972010: How exactly is ESP a cheap ability? It seemed pretty basic from whenever I got the power-up in the game. Does it have something like Leaf's invulnerable shield?

Posted at July 6th, 2016, 10:33 pm

@Ultizeta: Dash+B lets you teleport. While you hold the button, Kirby disappears completely. Teleporting also does damage going in AND out of it. Add that to its powerful attack and ridiculous accuracy, ESP is made for Arenas.

@Some guy: Having beat The TRUE Arena twice (first time with Poison, the other with Hammer), and I actually never got hit by those Red Rings of Evil.

BTW, on my second run with Hammer, I literally went into the Heart of Star Dream battle with only ONE pixel of health left, and I beat it.

Posted at July 7th, 2016, 7:41 am

Posted by Yoskichu (Guest)

@KirbyFighterDeluxe:To dodge it, you need full health and/or expert dodging skills. Sadly when I encountered it, I had neither of those things. :( EDIT:Wait, were you talking about SPOILERS Star Dream Soul OS's second phase? I never actully got there. I die on True mid-boss all-stars. Sigh.

@Sudux: Kirby Return to dreamland sucks so badly. It has terrible controls. And who could beat the artist ability. THE ARTIST, SPIDER, STAFF, AND THE MOST POWERFUL, ALMIGHTY FESTIVAL ABILITY!!!!!!!!.. there, an argument

@KirbyStar7: Actually, the point of KRtD was not to be extremely new and outstanding, but to return to the basics of Kirby games as far as gameplay, as at the time there hadn't been a classic Kirby game in a while. And this it did really well, not filling the game with complex elements.
As far as controls go, KRtD has essentially the same controls as any other Kirby game, with there being one jump button, one attack button, and one movement button, and almost all moves being different combinations of these buttons. And while it does include motion controls, all moves that use motion controls can also be done by mashing the directional button. KSA used the same controls, and thusly your argument is there null and void.
Also, you talk of KSA having innovation as far as abilities go... but compared to KRtD it's kinda lame in that regard. First of all, artist isn't entirely original, it's based off of the paint ability from KSS, and several other elements previously appearing in Kirby games. Spider ability is basically a reskinned ice that functions slightly different, but your still just immobilizing and kicking enemies. And staff functions similarly to spear in many ways, though it is somewhat original.
KRtD brought in four new abilities which have ALL returned in later Kirby games because they were that good. Water, introduced in KRtD, has become a staple in the series, and is even one of the elemental abilities in KSA. Leaf was kinda meh but good enough to come back (KTD I think), and Spear has become almost as staple as water, appearing, if not as an ability, as Bandana Waddle Dee's moveset in almost every game since KRtD. And Whip has become a staple too, in fact having it's own new enemy created around it in KSA and being one of the weapon abilities able to be infused with an element.
And let's not forget the super abilities introduced in KRtD. Ultra Sword even appears in Smash 4 as Kirby's final smash.
So, yeah, don't dis Kirby's Return to Dreamland. It was truly an outstanding game.
