Keeby just took a nosedive from "oh he's an alright character" to "wow this is now the worst-written character in the comic"

Then a few minutes later his memory breaks down and he comes back.

I think this is where the real chapter begins. Keeby is extremely frustrated with living in Kirby's Shadow, which influences him to leave Kirby. I'm willing to bet money he'll be back, but this time as a major villain. His inferiority complex has been gradually growing and it's about to burst.

@Ultizeta:

How does that happen in only one page? Besides, there's a reason why this is happening on the second to last part of this chapter, not the last. This isn't all.

Welp, Kirby clearly thought about going after Keeby in that last panel. Which means that Keeby's mission to save the world will fail and everyone is doomed. GOOD JOB KIRBY. HOW DARE YOU THINK.

...Either that, or Keeby is just a whiny little child, and Kirby keeps ignoring his feelings. Who knows.

>Placing his own validation at a higher value than the life of a close friend of his
>Going so far as to try and argue their guilt even in the face of a confession, just so he can be right
>Exploding like a child when he's proven to be wrong, not even caring that said friend was innocent and that HE was the one trying to pin the blame on her

I... really hope Keeby's not himself right now, or else I'm definitely going to have to agree with Ulti. Here I was thinking he was the rational one in all of this...

Posted at December 13th, 2015, 2:04 pm

Keeby didn't die. That was Keito. Wait, why am I telling a guest this?
Unless there's some other... Yellow... That was the same comic. I just remembered.
Ignore this comment.

@Sapar:

So a character is badly written when they act realistically?

Keeby Quits

@Ultizeta: Eh, he'll just get a memory relapse and come back. But seriously, WHAT an overreaction!
You know, I kinda think this is Kirby's fault, since he's always full of himself. I like to compare all the Keebys and Yellows that I see. KDA Keeby is seriously grumpy because of Kirby overshadowing him, and it looks like that's about to happen to ol' memory-relapse-and-crybaby-when-he loses-Keeby. Even though KDA Kirby could only really say "poyo" all the time.

The Bomb Master
Posted by The Bomb Master

Guys... It's a Phoenix wright reference. Remember at the end of the first game, when miles edge worth loses to pheonix? He says he's going to leave, telling people not to try to follow him. Then, in the second game, he generally gave up on prosecution. And even if it's not a reference, it's not poorly written. After being the second banana for a while, you're going to get tired of it.

Keeby's Descent

It's a shame, really. That banana used to be my favorite character, after I found out how twisted Larry was. I guess all Yellows have be emotionally messed up.

Sapar
Posted by Sapar

@Gigi19972010: Of course they aren't, but it's an entirely different case when they don't.

No normal, stable person would react like Keeby just did... though to be fair, I guess his memory issues would imply that he isn't entirely. Nevertheless, the way he's been acting these last few pages isn't just unreasonable but a rather telling sign of psychopathy. He worries me almost more than Sera, even, and she's the one who actually killed someone here.

It's also a pretty big deviation from what we've seen of him so far in this comic (even considering the fact that yes, he does resent constantly being the second banana), which is why I feel it's really not the best writing you could be doing with him.

I don't mean to be insulting or anything, I'm giving my honest opinion as a reader- it's our responsibility to be your critics as well as your friends and fans. Something went awry along the way, and it's worth keeping in mind so it doesn't happen in the future of the comic.

@Gigi19972010:
@Sapar:
I'm reserving my final judgment until the next page gets released, but I do generally agree with Sapar's explanation at the moment. This whole segment felt really out-of-character to me for Keeby (as well as making him out to be a very unlikable jerk if you actually look at what he's trying to do).

@Sapar:

Well, maybe everything from next page (the page itself, my author comment and my reply to Ulti's comment) will clear up what I was trying to do with Keeby here. If not, feel free to point out the problems again with the stuff I explained better... I'm up for debate here, I just want to make sure if even with my explanations you still have the same view.
