7TH ANNIVERSARY 950 PAGES SPACE LUZ

Hey, look, now 20 Times Kirby is SEVEN years old! Woah, time flies! And I'm still here, working on this comic? I sure am!

Gosh, at this rate I don't even know anymore what to say. I guess it will have to be more of the same: you all rock. No, seriously, without you all reading this crazy story, I would never had gone this far. I would never have spent my little to no free time trying to update this twice a week. And a page like this would never exist. So really, thank you all for reading this comic, no matter if you're someone who comments all the time, sometimes, or never. I know you all are there, and I couldn't be happier. I talk about this all years, but seriously, I love you guys. Thank you.

So, you're expecting me to say this is the end of the chapter, right? Well, because it's not! Yes, for the first time ever, an anniversary page doesn't mark the end of a chapter. Would you look at that! This actually marks the middle of this chapter. Luz's story isn't over yet.

So yeah, either way I'm here, and I need to write a giant author comment anyway, right? Right! So, here, I'll share with you some of my thoughts overall of the last few chapters of the comic, as well this current page. In fact, I'll start with the later, because it's shorter.

Well... I started this page a bit late. You know, my schedule since March has been a bit rough, with me going to work along with college. But I did write the poem of this page like back in September, one day when I suddenly got inspired at work, and then I reviewed it a couple times (including when I was making the page itself!). Then I made a first draft of the page. As for the visual part... Well, I first made the background of the page on the weekend of the 25th. Then I only started the drawings of Luz on the 9th! And I only traced, scanned and colored them on the 11th. Now for the rest? Well, I actually shaded the drawings when I should had already gone to bed on the 12th, and I finished everything else on the day I'm posting this, the 13th. Phew! This was rough with my schedule (I had to finish two projects by the 11th and I had my last test on the 12th) but it worked somehow. I know the focus this time wasn't on the drawings exactly, so that might be it.

You might be asking... Why a monologue in the form of a poem? Well, the thing is, I love writing poems, as I think they do an amazing job on describing emotions. Luz could be there thinking to herself in prose, but I don't think it would be as meaningful as it is in this format. If you get what I mean... This also goes better with the "deep" theme this page and previous ones have had. I mean, this page is literally Luz standing there, on space and with no gravity, thinking to herself, while the "camera" zooms in, out, and rotates around her. Deep stuff.
Finally, if you're asking yourself, yes, in the last panel that's a close up showing Luz's eyes (or kind of her eyes), because without that that panel wouldn't be as meaningful. Imagine yourself staring at Luz's sunglasses instead, with that same expression she always has because they obscure her "eyes". Get it? Anyway, I thought I wouldn't be able to achieve what I had in my mind, but I'm actually happy with the results.

So, yeah, that's it about this page, now let's talk about this chapter and previous ones!

The actual route to the end of this comic started with Only a Matter of Time... Although, like I've said before, maybe this title of first chapter of the end should have been given to Finally. Either way, the alternates got sick. Some of you didn't care about that, and I bet that, actually, many of you asked yourselves, why? Why did the alternates get sick? And more importantly, what does this have to do with the ending? Why did I even bring the alternates back in the first place, if they were going to disappear? Well, you're getting closer and closer to getting the answer for these questions, and you're actually VERY close to getting a tip... So stay tuned!

Then Finally came. It was short and direct: Grace made the kirbies head to rainbow place, they saw a bunch of villains together but couldn't stop them because of a force field. And soon enough, Meta Knight shows up with Luz, that random kirby that had almost never appeared before, and she's important. In fact, she says she can answer a bunch of questions... Then exposition starts. Shedding Some Light On starts. And here we are. I'll talk more specifically about some things revealed here, but just something first...

Truth to be told, this chapter has been making me very nervous. I constantly worry if what's being revealed is interesting enough, if everything is making sense, and if someone isn't going to question why the kirbies are even listening to Luz's story. Of course, I'm putting things in the comic to counter these things, like Kirby stopping Luz when things got really crazy, but still... Am I doing it right?

Probably the problem is that I've thought of this chapter for years now. This whole thing that Luz is telling you? Most of the facts have been there, in my mind, since like 2013. Now, the previous chapters, Only a Matter of Time and Finally are pretty recent, like this year and 2016. I guess I'm just worried if everything connects. Or maybe... The exposition.

Ok, I'm almost done with this ramble thing, but first, let me tell you: I'm still not sure if this exposition I'm doing is a good idea. It's long, and happens while something important is about to happen. Probably its only good thing is that it won't reveal everything about the comic (keep that in mind), but... You get what I mean? Compare this to A Memorable Morning, I guess, and see how their contexts are different. I don't know if I'm seeing this wrong, but for me AMM seems more natural? But at the same time, this exposition Luz is doing needs to happen, otherwise lots of things won't make sense.

...I guess we'll see when this comic ends, and I can picture the ending as a whole. For now, if you have thoughts, please share.

Anyway, some things were revealed, right? And some were left open... Well, let me answer some of the possible questions you're asking yourself... Or maybe the best I can.

Maybe you forgot by now, but Kirsy has some weak powers related to stamina. This is not random and will be brought back at some point again, so look forward to that.

The claim that Galacta Knight made about them wanting to destroy the world isn't fully right. Do you really think everyone involved would like that? Think about it.

Keeby is still around, and will of course... Do something important somewhat soon. There are still a lot of things about him that don't exactly make sense, and they will become clearer, don't worry.

About the thing with Adriano and Anibal in Only a Matter of Time part 49: there's no straight explanation for that.

Finally, like I've already said, not everything will be revealed in this chapter. Luz and Meta Knight may know a lot, but they don't know everything about this universe. Also, revealing everything via exposition is just wrong. This current chapter isn't the final chapter of the comic, and stuff will happen after it.

And yeah, that's about it... Personally, I've been enjoying writing these past few chapters, even if there are some times where I feel like I'm running in circles a bit with the story... But that's ok! I still anticipate some points of the story, because of some reveals, and I hope you all will like those.

In fact, the comic will for sure pass 1000 pages, and might reach 1100 even! I'm not sure yet, so let's see. What you can know for sure, however, is that you will at least celebrate another anniversary of the comic while it's still going on; after that, I can't promise anything yet.

Anyway, Shedding Some Light On still got a ways to go, so let's keep going! Next update will be only Wednesday, to give me some time to relax, then I'll go back to my regular schedule. I might post a news post about the upcoming rewrites before I update, but I don't know. But yeah again, thanks for your support, thanks for reading the comic, thanks for everything! I still can't believe a Kirby sprite comic became so important to me, and how it made me learn so much about a lot of things, and there are people all around the world interested on it. So yeah, thanks guys, you rock, I love you all. <3

So I have no idea what the outcome of it will be by the time you all see this, but I just want to tell you all, from the USA mostly, to NOT stop fighting for Net Neutrality! If it didn't exist there's a huge chance that many of you would never read this comic, along with many others. I know I won't be directly affected, but many of you will, so go on and FIGHT FOR IT! I believe in you all!!!
